Art 7 is a general art course that builds on the knowledge and skills learned in Art 6. It is a “ hands on” studio course requiring students to participate in creating art, and learning new processes. Emphasis will be placed on good work habits. This includes the proper use and care of materials, care in planning and execution of projects, and meeting deadlines.
Major content areas to be covered will include: Elements of Art, Principals of Design, Drawing, Perspective, Color Theory & Painting, and Printmaking. An Art History and/or Art criticism lesson will accompany projects. I encourage students to bring their curiosity with them to class, as I will explore any Art topic.
Students will be graded on completion of assigned in- class projects, according to specific criteria for each lesson. Students are given a one week grace period on late projects, and are encouraged to attend extra help and finish all artwork
Students will also be graded on participation, conduct and clean-up.
Punctuality.- it is important for students to be on time to class so we can start promptly!!!
Student Responsibilities:

•Listen to, and follow directions the first time they are given.
•Do not talk during presentations, or when another student is asking a question.
•Inappropriate language/ gestures will not be tolerated.
•The entire table must be cleaned up, seated, and quiet before class dismissal.
